CLUB STATEMENT – LYNDON NORRIS

Feb 11, 2020

The club was saddened to hear the passing of long time club stalwart Lyndon Norris at the end of January 2020. Lyndon had been part of the #CamArmy management committee for many years in the early years of the club at the same time Keith Jenkins and current board members Phil and John Williams took the club from the basement of Welsh Football to the 2nd tier.

Lyndon was a massive fan of the club, and was still a prominent figure at the M&P 3G, coming to watch games whenever he could pull time away from his Rhondda League commitments.

Mark Morgans, Director of Football had these words to say about Lyndon. “I came across Lyndon when I started refereeing and helping out the RDFL around 10 years ago. He is the only person i know who loved an email more than i did. I know he would laugh at that comment and we shared great times together. With all jokes aside, he was a brilliant man with his heart firmly set on enhancing Rhondda Football both at junior level and adult level. The gentlemen that were involved during his time here can’t speak highly enough about him, along with Lyndon it’s these men that set the foundations for what we are currently doing now and its up to us to continue that legacy. For his time and commitment to the club, we will forever be grateful to him for the years he shared with us.”

The funeral of Mr Lyndon Norris will be held on Wednesday February 26th at Coity Crematorium for 1.15pm. All are then invited back to Ton Pentre Football club to celebrate the man and share stories of this true Rhondda Football legend.

The club will hold a minutes silence in memory of Lyndon at our next home game vs Afan Lido on Tuesday February 18th 2020.

Our sympathies go out to the family and our friends at the RDFL.
Rest in Peace Lyndon. Forever with the #CamArmy
