It is with great sadness that we must announce the sudden passing of our Development Team Assistant Manager Dale Williams.
Dale passed away yesterday after a very short battle with illness. He was 34 years old.
After having a brief stint with us last season he excitedly returned to the club, reuniting and working alongside Liam Williams within our Academy set up, a partnership which had great success at Blaenrhondda FC. Dale was working towards his coaching badges within the FAW Trust environment and was an aspiring coach with a great knowledge and understanding of senior football. It was that knowledge and experience he was truly starting to instill into our young men looking to graduate into our senior setup. Within the club, we will continue to support Liam, Dan, Andy and the players within our youth team affected by these truly tragic circumstances.
Our thoughts also go out to our neighbours Tonyrefail BGC, where Dale has been a stalwart for many years. We would like to thank all the Rhondda Football family and Welsh Football far and wide for their kind messages of love and support. We would especially like to thank Gwyn Derfel at the Football Association of Wales; Bari and his team at Aberystwyth Town Football Club for working with us to postpone the game scheduled for this coming Sunday.
Our JD Welsh Cup game vs Haverfordwest County tomorrow will go ahead as scheduled.
All our heartfelt condolences and thoughts go out to his family and friends at this terribly difficult time. He will be sorely missed in and around the club and will never be forgotten.
